Case Study: Connect Sport

Telling a Life-Saving Story Through Brand, Platform, and Purpose

One Hour. One Course. Lifelong Impact.

This isn’t just a tagline. It’s a mission in motion.
Connect Sport offers one-hour mental health literacy training for parents and coaches, helping them recognize challenges early and support youth in sport.

In partnership with Nexxt Ideas, Cordeeple co-led a full rebrand and website rebuild to bring that mission to life online. We clarified their message, shaped a more human voice, and built a digital platform designed for trust, action, and accessibility.

This wasn’t just branding. It was about making essential education easier to access, one course at a time.

TL;DR

Cordeeple partnered with Nexxt Ideas on a full rebrand and website rebuild for Connect Sport. Using our Humanized Brand approach, we co-created a story-first platform that makes mental health literacy clear, accessible, and actionable for parents and coaches.

A Mission That Hits Close to Home

Some projects are passion-fueled. Others are purpose-led. This one was both.

Connect Sport is a Calgary-based nonprofit working to make mental health literacy accessible across youth sports. Their mission is simple but powerful:

Make sport safer—for every mind.

They do this by offering evidence-informed, one-hour training courses built for coaches and parents, helping them recognize mental health challenges early, respond with care, and reduce stigma in the locker room, on the field, and at home.

At the heart of Connect Sport is founder Chris, who started the organization after losing a friend to suicide. His story wasn’t just a reason—it was a rallying cry. A call to prevent other young athletes from falling through the cracks. A way to educate the adults around them with tools, awareness, and empathy.

That mission struck a chord with me (Billy, Founder of Cordeeple) on a personal level.
Mental health has always been close to home. I’ve watched the struggle unfold within my own family. I’ve felt the helplessness of not knowing what to say or how to help. Suicide isn’t just a word on a website—it’s a wound in so many families, including mine.

So when Nexxt Ideas, who were already donating their time to manage Connect Sport’s website, brought me in, I didn’t hesitate. I donated my time too.

Not just to build a website, but to help tell a story that could save lives.

Before After

Laying the Foundation—1-on-1 Humanizing a Brand

When we started, Connect Sport had a mission. They had a course.
But they didn’t yet have a full brand that could carry that message to the world.

So I took them through Cordeeple’s 1-on-1 “Humanizing a Brand” experience—the same foundational system we use for founders, now applied to a nonprofit doing impact work.

Here’s what we built together:

1. Brand Clarity

We created:

  • A refreshed logo version for flexible use (while preserving the original).
  • A brand guide with accessible fonts, warm but grounded colours, and visuals that would resonate with parents and coaches alike.

A clear tone of voice: honest, inclusive, real—not corporate, not clinical

We helped the Connect Sport team articulate:

  • Their purpose: making sport safer for every mind.
  • Their vision: a country where mental wellness in youth sports is a shared responsibility.
  • Their values: community, safety, inclusion, and education.

Their new tagline came naturally from their offer:

One Hour. One Course. Lifelong Impact.

Then, working hand-in-hand with Nexxt Ideas, we rebuilt the website from the ground up:

  • Wrote new narrative-driven copy that told their story with emotional clarity and practical purpose.
  • Designed simple, intuitive user paths to guide visitors toward the Parent and Coach course pages.
  • Reframed the site’s core messaging around empowerment, action, and collective change.
  • Told their founder’s story of why they began Connect Sport.

We worked with Nexxt Ideas to turn Connect Sport’s site into a high-impact, low-friction platform, with UX and copy designed to:

  • Get people to take action immediately
  • Remove mental “overwhelm” for time-strapped users
  • Provide clear, emotionally resonant reasons to engage and share

Every page was designed with a behaviour-led strategy:

  • Clear next steps
  • No dead ends
  • Short sections for skim readers

Logical funnelling toward either the Parent or Coach course

Connect Sport is more than a charity—it’s a learning platform. That’s why the site was structured with:

  • Scalable content blocks for future blog, guides, and toolkits
  • A focus on storytelling + learning + action

AEO principles are embedded from day one, so AI tools like ChatGPT can index and surface the site in mental health queries

We rewrote every major page:

  • Homepage
  • Course landing pages
  • About
  • How It Works
  • Community Impact

Our approach focused on:

  • Accessibility — 6th–8th grade reading level
  • Urgency — without fearmongering
  • Empathy — grounded in the realities of parenting and coaching today

This wasn’t just a donation—it was a full build with the same systems and standards we apply to for-profit growth companies.

  • We didn’t design for flash.
  • We designed to be trusted, understood, and to empower others.

A Platform With a Purpose

The new Connect Sport website has launched. There’s no hype, no PR rollout—just a clear message, a focused platform, and a founder-led mission.

Here’s what we built:

  • A brand that’s emotionally resonant, trustworthy, and usable across print, pitch decks, and partnerships
  • A user experience that’s grounded in behavioural science and emotional clarity
  • A copy system that converts without gimmicks, speaks without fluff, and shows up in both human and AI search

We’ve also set them up with:

  • Future-ready SEO and AEO structure
  • Modular content blocks for growth
  • Systems for ongoing education and awareness-building

Data will come—but even before that, the result is already meaningful:

Connect Sport finally has a digital presence that reflects the heart behind the mission.

What This Case Study Means for Purpose-Led Brands

Connect Sport isn’t just running a nonprofit. They’re normalizing mental health literacy in a sector where silence used to reign.

This case study proves:

  • When you lead with a story, people listen.
  • When you remove friction, people act.
  • When your message is clear, you earn trust—organically.

If you’re a founder, nonprofit leader, or purpose-driven org…

And you’re building something that deserves more attention, more traction, and more impact

Cordeeple’s Takeaway

This wasn’t just a website update. It was a reintroduction—of a mission, a message, and a movement.

With Connect Sport, we didn’t create a brand from scratch. We uncovered the one that was already there, waiting to be told with clarity and care. Through our Humanizing a Brand process, we helped shape their voice, structure their story, and build a platform that feels as real and urgent as the work they do.

Every part of the rebrand—from the tagline to the course flow—was designed to reflect their purpose without pretense. Honest. Grounded. Useable. The kind of story people remember, act on, and share.

Because when the mission is this personal, the brand can’t be performative. It has to be human.

That’s what we built together. A brand people can trust. A platform built to educate, not just impress. A system that gives the mission room to grow—and the audience a reason to care.

Build Something That Moves People—Not Just Traffic

At Cordeeple, we work with people who give a damn.

From nonprofit missions to for-profit purpose, we help founders like Chris and teams like Connect Sport bring their message to life—clearly, authentically, and powerfully.

If your mission is clear but your platform isn’t…
If your story deserves to be heard…
If you want a brand that builds trust, not just traffic…

Let’s build something that moves the needle—for the people who need you most.

Let’s shape your story

FAQ: Building Purpose-Led Brands That Truly Support Their Communities

It starts by grounding everything in story and service. For Connect Sport, we built the website around their purpose—not a pitch. That meant using accessible language, designing clear user flows for time-strapped parents and coaches, and reflecting the warmth and clarity of their mission throughout the visuals and copy. Every touchpoint was designed to feel human, helpful, and empowering—not transactional.

AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) ensures your content can be found and cited by AI tools like ChatGPT and voice assistants. For Connect Sport, AEO helped embed their mission into modern search—so when someone asks how to support youth mental health in sports, the site is more likely to surface. This isn't just SEO for keywords—it's SEO for conversations, future-proofed from day one.

Most web projects focus on visuals and pages. We focus on people, purpose, and proof. The “Humanizing a Brand” process digs deep into your story, mission, values, and tone—then translates that into a cohesive digital system that earns trust, builds alignment, and drives action. For Connect Sport, this included brand strategy, tone-of-voice, emotional UX, and storytelling that converted with compassion.

Trust comes from clarity and consistency. We helped Connect Sport define their voice and values, then wove that into every element of the site—headlines, navigation, buttons, and story. Nothing was fluff. It was all built to be real, respectful, and relevant to parents, coaches, and donors navigating sensitive topics like youth mental health.

You don’t need a perfect pitch deck or a polished plan. You need clarity of purpose, a willingness to collaborate, and a mission that matters. Whether you’re a nonprofit, grassroots org, or purpose-led founder, we’ll help shape your vision into something powerful, practical, and scalable—just like we did with Connect Sport.
